Admissions

I’m an adult over the age of 18. Can I visit the museum without a child?

No, the museum exhibits are designed to provide an interactive, hands-on learning experience for children between the ages of 1 through 10 years old. 

Can my child visit the museum alone or with a teenage relative?

No, all children must be accompanied by one adult who is at least 18 years old.

Discounted and Free Admission

Are there free hours?

Health, Safety, and Accessibility

Can I bring a weapon or firearm into the Museum?

No. CMGFR has a strict zero-tolerance to violence policy, as well as safety protocol that does not allow weapons of any type to be brought into the museum. 

Do you have an elevator?

No. However, the first floor of the museum is completely accessible via a ramp located at the main entrance of the building. The second floor of the museum is not accessible. 

Are your restrooms ADA accessible?

The museum has one ADA accessible restroom located on the first floor. 

Do you have all-gender restrooms?

Yes. All of our restrooms are not gender specific. 

Where can I breastfeed my child?

The museum has a designated area for breastfeeding—a room that is comfortable and private. 

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Also consider clothing that you do not mind get a bit dirty, as some of our exhibits and activities encourage messy play and experiences with water.

Refunds and Exchanges

Can my tickets be refunded if I cannot visit or attend an event?

No. All admission and event tickets are nonrefundable. 

What happens if the museum cancels an event or program?

CMGFR will provide refunds if events or programs are cancelled by the museum. 

Eating and Drinking

Where can my family have a snack or lunch?

The museum has a multipurpose room where families can have lunch or a snack, which is available unless a party is taking place at the same time. Patrons are encouraged to bring a lunch if they are planning to spend the day at the museum. Please note that the museum has a nut-free policy. Also, we do sell snacks and beverages that are child friendly. 

Coat Check, Stroller Parking, Lost and Found

Can I check my coat or other items?

We have space available for families to hang their belongings, which are located throughout the museum. The museum is not responsible for personal belongings that are left unattended. 

Is there stroller parking?

Yes, we provide a designated area for stroller parking, which is located on the first floor. 

Do you have a Lost and Found?

Yes. Please stop by the front desk if you have a missing item. 

Group Visits

Can I bring a group to the museum?

Yes, we host field trips and rent space for birthdays and private parties. Please refer to the Parties and Field Trips page for more information. 

Is there lunch space for my group?

The museum has a multipurpose room where visiting groups can have lunch or a snack. Field Trip groups are encouraged to bring a lunch if they are planning to spend the day at the museum. Please note that the museum has a nut-free policy. Also, we do sell snacks and beverages that are child friendly. 

I am a member of another children’s museum or science center. What are my benefits?
