Fall River is a vibrant city steeped in history, diversity, arts, and culture. The Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River partners with many organizations that share a similar mission and vision. These partnerships enhance the arts and culture of our community, as we work together to create opportunities that develop a love and deep understanding of how the arts and culture nurture humanity.

Association of Children’s Museums

Started in 1962, the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) champions children’s museums worldwide. With more than 470 members in 50 states and 11 countries, ACM is the world’s foremost professional society supporting and advocating on behalf of children’s museums, and those who work at and otherwise sustain them. ACM leverages the collective knowledge of children’s museums through convening, sharing, and dissemination.

Buttonwood Park Zoo

Buttonwood Park Zoo, which is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford and supported in its endeavors by the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society, features a variety of animals native to Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America.

Bristol Community College – Early Childhood Program

The Early Childhood Education program at Bristol Community College proudly collaborates with the Children's Museum of Greater Fall River, fostering a relationship aimed at enriching both learning environments. Through offering volunteer opportunities, our students gain invaluable hands-on experience, while simultaneously contributing to the museum's mission of inspiring a love for learning. Additionally, our faculty actively engage with the museum by volunteering on its board of directors, and the museum executives volunteer on the college’s Early Childhood Advisory Board ensuring that our programs remain attuned to industry needs and best practices, while also providing guidance to enhance the museum's educational initiatives.

Citizens for Citizens Head Start, Early Head Start and Childcare

Head Start promotes the school readiness of children ages birth to 5 by enhancing their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Head Start uses an individualized and developmental approach to early childhood education that builds upon the child’s strengths, their needs, and interests. Children learn through exploration and discovery and through their own experiences to ensure that learning concepts are meaningful.

Fall River Public Library

The Fall River Public Library Children's Room is open during regular library hours and serves infants through eighth graders with a variety of programs, books, audio books, movies, music, book kits, puzzles, toys, games, comics/graphic novels, magazines, and reference resources.

Fall River Public Schools

We partner with the Fall River Public Schools Early Childhood Program and are a member of the Greater Fall River School and Community Partnership Group. We provide support to the school system by providing developmentally appropriate activities at family conference events, field trips to the museum and host Kindergarten registration events on site at the museum. Additionally, CMGFR provides space for the FRPS to facilitate play and learn groups.

Fall River Heritage State Park

Fall River Heritage State Park is a history-themed public recreation area on the Taunton River in Fall River. The state park encompasses 14 acres beside the Charles M. Braga Jr. Memorial Bridge on Battleship Cove, home of the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts.

Greater Fall River RE-CREATION

Greater Fall River RE-CREATION strives to provide year-round recreational, educational, and developmental programs to Greater Fall River area residents. Greater Fall River RE-CREATION provides a variety of programs ranging from arts and crafts, sports, dance, fitness classes and other programs for economically disadvantaged citizens who would otherwise not be able to afford or participate in them.

Viva Fall River embodies the vibrant spirit and community pride that defines this remarkable city. We are an active tourism organization that guides locals and newcomers alike to Fall River’s vivacious and diverse community. Viva Fall River champions economic growth and celebrates all the city has to offer in creative arts, rich ethnic and cultural traditions, diverse businesses, a picturesque waterfront, spirited events, and so much more.

The organization is a grant-funded, public-private partnership and is a fiscal sponsorship of the One SouthCoast Chamber Foundation, a not-for-profit entity.
